We are pleased to announce the following service to our competitors online. You can download competition Registration Forms (below) as well as Ticket Form. You will need “Adobe Acrobat Reader” to view and print these forms.

Please read Event Rules, Policies, and Syllabus carefully before submitting entries and packages.

Mail all entries and packages with payment in full by money order or cashiers check in US currency made payable to “OHIO STAR BALL” to: OHIO STAR BALL P. O. Box 14442 Columbus, Ohio 43214 (614) 848-7827. Personal and studio checks will be returned. Payment must accompany all completed forms for entries no later then October 7, 2018. Entries received after that date, if accepted, will be subject to a $50.00 per person late fee. CREDIT CARDS NOT ACCEPTED. Over the phone, faxed or e-mail entries will not be accepted. Late entries will only be accepted if the timetable permits and does not create extra rounds. All late, or changed, or substituted entries will not be counted towards Top Teacher, Top Studio awards. Late entries received after OCTOBER 7TH could be returned. You will receive confirmation of your entries and packages in the mail. Please check very carefully that no mistakes have been made.

If you’re planning to attend the Ohio Star Ball on a Package, please contact your studio if you have any questions on tickets, registration, hotels, or pricing. The hotels that are used for our package customers are the Hyatt Regency Columbus, and the adjacent Drury Inn Hotel and Crowne Plaza hotels. If you’re a studio or independent teacher/student and have tickets/registration/hotel/pricing questions, please contact the Ohio Star Ball Registrar using the information on the Contact Us page.

For those of you who are not on a Package and would like to reserve a hotel room, you may call our Hotel Room Reservation Hotline, 614-940-8668, preferably between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm Eastern time. We will need to know your arrival/departure dates and whether you want Single or Double occupancy.

For those of you who would like to reserve your own hotel room, the Hyatt Place Columbus/OSU is a very good choice. It is located within 1.5 miles of the Hyatt Regency and Convention Center for added convenience. Reservations can be made by calling 888-492-8847 and mentioning the Ohio Star Ball, or via the hotel website at www.hyattplacecolumbusosu.com utilizing the group booking code G-STRB. There is a 3-night minimum stay for the $149 (plus tax) group rate to be applicable. Room rate includes complimentary Hot Breakfast Buffet each morning, complimentary WiFi, and complimentary parking. There is a free shuttle to/from the convention center available upon request (7a-9p, weekdays; 10a-9p weekends). We encourage reservations to be coordinated by November 1, 2018 to ensure the group rate.

Professional entry fee includes admission to ballroom only when you are competing in professional event. Professional entry fees will be waived if the Professional couple has twenty or more Pro/Am entries for each professional division entered.

All general admission tickets should be purchased in advance and will be sold pending the availability of space. Friday evening and Saturday evening in Battelle Hall will be reserved seating for everyone. All other sessions, whether in the Regency Ballroom or Battelle Hall will not be reserved or guaranteed seating to general admission tickets holders. Package holders will have an assigned table in the Regency Ballroom. Tickets are non-refundable or exchangeable.

All orders for tickets must be received by November 1 in order to complete the request. After that date you can purchase tickets at the door, if they are available. Entries must be received by October 7.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Cancellation must be in writing and made prior to October 30 to receive a refund 30 days after the event. Cancellation made after October 30 will NOT receive a refund. Canceled entries taken at the event cannot be substituted by another entry and no refund will be made on such a cancellation. There are no refunds or exchanges on general admission tickets.

Competition Attire as follows:

  • Tuesday will be casual.
  • Wednesday will be casual.
  • Thursday will be casual.
  • Thursday evening, DanceSport Series Regional colors: Region 1 – Orange, Region 2 – Blue, Region 3 – Purple, Region 4 – Yellow, Region 5 – Green, Region 6 – Red, Region 7 – Gold.
  • Friday evening will be formal.
  • Saturday evening will be formal.
  • Sunday will be casual.
